Lionel Messi became an honorary citizen of the city of Funes.


Funes is located near Rosario, the hometown of the PSG and Argentina striker.


Earlier it became known that Messi and his wife Antonella Roccuzzo purchased several plots of land in Funes for $4 million to build a residence called La Fortaleza (fortress, stronghold - Spanish).
